"Work ethic" is the manner or way in which you do your work to strengthen your character and abilities. It's a set of morals regarding work such as responsibility, discipline, strategy, dedication, cooperation, and many more. Ex: I always admired her work ethic in class. Ex: He doesn't have a great work ethic. I'm not sure how helpful he'll be with this project. Ex: I need to work on my work ethic to be more productive.

What is the meaning of "that" at the front of the sentence? Can we put "that" at the head of the sentence like this?
"That" in this case follows the previous sentence and is actually a continuation of that sentence. So the full sentence should be "it well may be that we will never meet again." It just sounds like two different sentences here because they are singing a slow song and the lyrics are spaced out. When used as a clause in this context, the word "that" does not usually come at the beginning of a sentence, however, it can. If you put "that" at the beginning of a sentence, it makes the sentence sound more formal and poetic. Here's a few examples: Ex: I forgot to call you yesterday and that is my fault. Ex: That I forgot to call you yesterday is my fault. Ex: He broke her heart and that is sad. Ex: That he broke her heart is sad.

Yes, you can. It expresses the same general meaning intended by the speaker. Ex: Apply another method if this one doesn't work. = Use another method if this one doesn't work.

Rose means to say, "I'm not (peeking)," in reference to this specific occasion. If she were to say "I don't," it would sound unnatural as it refers to the fact that she does not peek in general, and not this particular time that she is referring to. Thus, "i'm not" works best in this context. Ex: A: Are you going to the mall today? B: I'm not. Ex: A: Don't cheat on the test! B: I'm not (cheating)!

The second meaning is what is being used in this clip, it means the number of people employed by a business or company at any given time. Ex: The teacher always does a headcount to check how many students there are on the bus. Ex: The business is suffering so we are unable to increase the headcount.

"Might as well/may as well" are expressions used to suggest doing something, especially when there is nothing better to do or no other options available. It can also be used to suggest something in an unenthusiastic way. These expressions are usually used informally when speaking. In this case, you can understand the speaker as saying similar to "you cannot control something from happening, so you should just go with the flow (because there are no other options)." Ex: I have nothing to do today. Might as well take a nap to pass some time. Ex: We might as well just grab some snacks before the movie. There isn't enough time to eat at a restaurant.
