Kind of, yeah! "Destruction" is the state of being "destroyed." But "destruct" is also closely linked to "destruction." Ex: There was so much destruction. The bomb destroyed the whole town. Ex: Don't press the destruct button! Ex: Try not to destruct anything while I'm away. = Try not to destroy anything while I'm away.
