"Like it is" means the manner or way something exists. It's the fact of something. It can also be used to bluntly state the facts or effects of something. Ex: If you don't get a good grade, you won't get in for medicine. I'm just telling you like it is. Ex: The project is very big and time-consuming. When I said yes to being part of the team, I had no idea it would be like it is. Ex: She was surprised that her song is listened to like it is! Everyone is playing it.
