student asking question

Does the word "of" is omitted in this sentence? And is it common to simply say "course" instead of "of course" in Britain? I don't think I've heard "course(= of course)" in American English!

Yes! "Course" is a common British abbreviation of "Of course"! Ex: I got in trouble for going into the wrong room. Course, no one had told me it was the wrong room. Ex: You would like to borrow my shirt? Course you can!
