A "save-the-date" is something that tells your guests to mark the date in their calendar for an event or to take note of it. They could be physical invitations, emails, messages, and so on! These are typical for weddings but could be used for other big events too. Ex: We sent out our save-the-dates in the mail yesterday. Ex: John got a save-the-date today for the wedding next month. Ex: I can't believe there are so many save-the-dates for this spring. Ex: Save the date! Terry and Martin are getting married on October 24th.
