"Letters" are individual characters that can make up a "word". A "word" is a group of letters that have a specific meaning. A "phrase" is a group of words put together that form a unit, meaning, or clause of a sentence. Ex: My name begins with the letter "B." Ex: I have three words for you: I love chocolate. Ex: I never understood the phrase "back to square one." Ex: You can use the phrase "that's interesting" as a response to a lot of things people say.
