A "trip" is specific to a period of time and usually means going to a place nearby or far away. Compared to "travel" and "journey", "trip" is distinctive in that it can be short distances. "Travel" means to go from one place to another, usually over long distances and in bigger modes of transport, like a plane. "Journey" can be the same as "travel", but it can also mean going through a long process with different developments and points. Ex: I took a trip to the grocery store this afternoon. Ex: Let's go on a road trip to the coast! Ex: My family enjoys traveling during the summer. Ex: Do you like to travel? Ex: It was 30 day-long journey. We walked for miles and stopped at houses along the way. Ex: The journey was long and tiring, but it was good.
