Should I always put "the" in front of "1st" when saying "November the 1st"?

Good question. It isn't necessary to put "the" in front of 1st" in order to have it be grammatically correct. In fact there are many ways to say the date in English and none of them are incorrect. Ex: The date is November 1st. Ex: It is the 1st of November. Ex: My birthday is November the 1st.
