What's "bump into" mean? Is it same as "run into?"

It's similar, yeah! Although, in the context of swimming, "bump" is more appropriate since you're not walking or running anywhere. If you "bump into" someone, here, it means to hit or collide with. But it can also mean encountering unexpectedly. Ex: I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bump into you. => hit or collide with = I'm sorry, I didn't mean to run into you. Ex: I ran into Sarah at the shops. I hadn't seen her in a long time! => chance encounter = I bumped into Sarah at the shops. I hadn't seen her in a long time! => chance encounter
