Would it be awkward to say "I'll meet you there"?

Not at all! In fact, it's used quite often. However, it sometimes can be used a little differently than "see you there." If you plan to go somewhere with someone but decide to meet up later, you say, "I'll meet you there." "I'll see you there" can mean the same thing but can also mean that you are going to the same event and hope to see them at the event. Ex: I guess I'll see you there then. Ex: I can meet you there at around 5:30. A: Are you going to the festival tomorrow? B: Definitely! I'll see you there! A: Wanna go to the movies tonight? B: Sure! I'll meet you there.
