Black Lives Matter (shortened as "BLM") is a political and social movement that protests the racism, discrimination, and inequality experienced by Black people around the world. It started in the United States as a response to police violence and brutality against Black people, but is now present around the world and highlights many issues besides police brutality. You may recall the protests that happened in the US a couple of years ago, to demand justice for the murder of George Floyd and many other Black victims. Ex: Black Lives Matter was one of the defining civil rights movements of this century. Ex: The Black Lives Matter movement has highlighted the issues of racism and inequality faced by Black people in America and elsewhere.
