"To go after someone/something", as a phrasal verb, means to pursue or follow someone or something. Ex: I took a car trip in Paris. I didn't know how to get to the Eifel tower, so I just went after the tourist busses. Ex: My dad forgot his wallet this morning, so my mom went after him to give him the wallet.
