What does "CIA" stand for? Are there similar agencies in other countries?

CIA stands for Central Intelligence Agency, the top spying agency of the American government. Every country has their own intelligence agency, with prominent examples being the UK's Secret Intelligence Service (SIS) (otherwise known is MI6), Israel's Mossad, and Russia's GRU (Main Intelligence Directorate). In some countries, intelligence falls under the governance of the police, so there is no single agency dedicated to intelligence. There are also international intelligence agencies, like Interpol.
