What does "déjà vu" mean? Somehow, it looks like a foreign expression. Would there be a similar expression in English?

You're correct! "Déjà vu" is actually French (translation meaning "already seen") and is used to express a feeling of having already experienced the current situation. For example, let's say that you find yourself meeting the same friend at the same cafe that you were at a week ago. That would give you a feeling of déjà vu. Ex: Although we were strangers, I had a strange sense of déjà vu when I met her for the first time. Ex: Watching this movie with my friend again, exactly a year later, I was struck with a feeling of déjà vu.
