Here, "bet" is similar to "chance" or "prediction." As if saying, there's a good chance or idea of something happening. But it's a "bet" because you're not one hundred percent sure since it hasn't happened yet. Ex: It's a good bet that she'll be late again today. Ex: He bets that we'll want to go to a different restaurant as soon as we sit down in this one.
