In business, a "franchise" is a business, brand, or organization that can give authority to individuals to sell their goods or services in a particular area as an extension of that business. That extension would also be called a "franchise." Ex: The restaurant is a franchise. So you'll find the same restaurant in different cities with hardly any difference. Ex: I'd like to own a franchise one day. => the right to sell goods or services of an organization Ex: We franchised our business a few years back, and stores have opened across the country.
