What does "straight up" mean? When can I use it?

"Straight up" is slang that means honestly or truthfully! You say it when you're honest about something without holding back or hiding the truth in any way. It's considered casual and informal. You can use it in the middle of the sentence in place of "honestly" or "truthfully". Or, you can use it at the beginning of the sentence, letting the person know what you're about to say is the truth. Ex: I'm telling you straight up, I never saw him with her. Ex: Straight up, I didn't think you'd make it this far in the competition, but you've done really well.
