Is "wage" same as "salary"? If yes, which one's more commonly used?

There's a slight difference between the two, although sometimes they are used interchangeably. "Wages" can refer to payment per hour and the labour done, which can change as well depending on the job. A "salary" is an agreed and fixed amount paid by an employer to an employee. Ex: What are the wages like working at the cafe? Ex: My boss told me he's giving me a raise in my salary from next month.
