Like "Lisa" for "Elizabeth" or "Maggie" for "Margaret," I've heard that there's a lot of shortened versions of names. Then, does "Alice" also a shortened name as well?

"Alice" is a full name in itself. A similar name is "Alicia." Alice is technically a shortened version of the Old French name "Adelis," but nowadays it is not known as being a shortened name of anything. Especially nowadays, the trend is that "shortened" names are considered names on their own. For example, somebody's first name may be "Maggie," but it doesn't mean necessarily mean that it is a shortened form of the name "Margaret."
