What does "canteen" mean? Can it be replaced with a "cafeteria"?

A "canteen" is a place in a factory, office, military base, etc., where food and meals are sold, often at a lower than usual price Yes, I believe you can replace it with "cafeteria." However, it's not common to call a cafeteria in the United States a canteen. If you are speaking to someone from America, it would be better to use cafeteria. Ex: Let's go down to the canteen and grab some lunch. Ex: There's a canteen on the first floor of the office building.
