In documentary, I heard narrators saying "relocate" for immigrants. What's the main difference between "relocate" and "immigrate?"

"Relocate" is a much broader term than "immigrate," so it can possibly be used when talking about immigration. "Relocate" means to move from one place to another. But "immigrate" is more specific and means to come into a country for residence. Ex: We're relocating to the countryside. => moving locations within the same country Ex: He decided to immigrate to Canada.
