"Peel and "husk" have fairly similar definitions. "Husk" means to remove the dry, leafy, or stringy exterior on certain fruits and vegetables. It also means the outer covering of certain fruits, seeds, and vegetables. To "peel" something means to remove an outer layer of something slowly. Ex: You have to remove all the husk off the corn before boiling them. Ex: Her skin started to peel after a horrible sunburn. Ex: The husk of the seed is very tough. Ex: Make sure to peel off the sticker.
