What's "at last" mean and when's it used?

"At last" means finally or after a long time. You can use it when you've been hoping for or waiting for something for a long time. It has a feeling or nuance of some kind of relief that that thing finally happened. Ex: You came home, at last! Ex: And, at last, the weather started to get warmer. Warm enough to go swimming at the beach. Ex: She went to say hi to everyone, then, at last, she came and greeted our table.
