"Love to death" is just an expression used to emphasize how much one loves someone or something. Here, "love the boy to death" just means "love the boy a lot." Ex: I love this bar to death. It's my favorite. Ex: I love Ariana Grande to death.

A "country club" has a lot of amenities, and perhaps a golf course. It's known to be prestigious. An ordinary "club" may not have all the same things and may not require as much of a fee to enter or be a part of, unlike a country club.
