Kiwi asks…

What does "I'ma" mean? Is it slang?

Answer from a Native speaker

teacher

Rebecca

It is a contraction of words! The long-form word is "I'm going to", which then becomes "I'm gonna" and then shortened to "I'ma". Ex: I'ma see what's happening over there. Ex: I'ma ask mom if I can have some cake. Ex: Jude better not have broken my frame. I'ma be so mad!
