You're right, technically it would be more correct to say "there're" in this case, since "are" is plural and it is referring to "fruits" plural. However, in most dialects of English "there're" is rarely used, so "there's" is the most common form. Even in contexts where the object is plural, most people use the contraction "there's" instead of "there're". But if you were to say "there is", this would not be correct.
