Does "now" refer to "this moment"?

"Now" has a couple of different meanings. Usually, it means at the present time or moment. In this clip, however, "now" is being used to draw the kid's attention to the question that is being asked. Ex: Now tell me, what's your favorite song? Ex: Now, let's talk about our plan of action.
