Answer from a Native speaker

teacher

Rebecca

"Kick off" means to begin or start something. It's originally a sports term, when at soccer or football games, someone kicks the ball to start the game. Now It's used to indicate the start of other things! Ex: When will the new school term kick-off? Ex: The concert kicks off at seven pm.
