Kiwi asks…

What does "double-dip" mean?

Answer from a Native speaker

teacher

Rebecca

To "double-dip" means that you put a piece of food briefly into a dip after you've already taken a bite of it. It's considered unsanitary when you are sharing the food with other people! Ex: Here's the cream cheese for the carrot sticks. No double-dipping, please! Ex: Oops, I double dipped my chip. Ex: I don't like it when people double-dip at parties.
