What's the main difference between "Oscar Awards" and "Academy Awards?" Aren't they the same awards? Why would they use two different terms?

The "Oscar [Awards]" is an informal title. "Academy Awards" is the formal title. Other than that, there isn't any difference between them. They are the same! Ex: You won an Oscar last year, right? = You won an Academy Award last year, right?
