"Free ride" is an idiom that usually means to have an advantage over others without having to work for it or having to earn it. In this situation, I believe it means the same thing. She says that she isn't asking to get something for free. Ex: She got a free ride to college. Ex: He really got a free ride in life. Always getting things without having to work for it.
