What's "in the loop" mean?

To be "in the loop" means to be/stay updated or aware about something. This means that if there are updates or changes, you are aware of them. Ex: Although I am on vacation, I'm kept in the loop by coworkers. Ex: Good luck and please keep me in the loop!
