"Find themselves left" in this sentence means to discover that a person is alone and without help to obtain what he or she wants or needs. In this video, she wrote about how women have discovered that they are left to fight for their own gender equality without help from others. Ex: I found myself left to provide for my family. Ex: She found herself left to take care of her children on her own. Ex: We found ourselves left to fight for good health care.
