How can I use "only"?

Answer from a Native speaker

Rebecca

You can use "only" as an adverb, adjective, or conjunction. As an adverb, "only" means "exclusively". Ex: This sale will only last until Monday. As an adjective, "only" refers to something single or by itself. Ex: The only shirt left during the sale was ugly. As an informal conjunction, "only" means "except". Ex: I wanted my friend to come to the sale with me, only she hates shopping.
