What does "break things" mean here?

Answer from a Native speaker

Rebecca

"Move fast and break things" is actually a common saying in the Silicon Valley, particularly among science and engineering-related companies. The "break things" part of the saying means that "breaking things" (which can be interpreted as making mistakes in general) is actually a positive thing, and can lead to innovation in the end. This used to be the internal motto of Facebook. Ex: The tech industry used to go by the "move fast, break things" motto. But now, things are changing. Ex: It's okay if you fall down or break things. It's all a part of learning and growing.
