"Arm reach," or "arm's reach," is used to describe the area within which something may be accessed without moving (the area within the reach of your arms). Here, "arm reach" is used to refer to the area that a flight attendant can reach with her arms, which is important as they have to move luggage from overhead bins as well as pass food and drinks to passengers. Arm reach is sometimes also referred to as arm span or wingspan. Ex. I put my bookshelves close to my desk so that all my books are within arm's reach. Ex. Having a long arm reach is advantageous if you are an athlete.
