Kiwi asks…

What does "errand" mean?

Answer from a Native speaker

teacher

Rebecca

An errand is a task, chore, or job that one takes a short trip somewhere to do. Usually, it's to attend to business like taking a message or going to take or drop off something. If someone says they are running errands, they may be taking a short trip to somewhere like the grocery store or dropping off something. Ex: I don't have any big plans, just running some errands at the mall. Ex: I have some errands to take care of today, like buying some food and mailing a letter.
