To "go through" means to search/look through something, to examine something. In this case, to "go through your iPad" means to search or look through one's iPad, in search of something. Ex: I went through my entire closet but couldn't find my tie for work. Ex: My mom is going through our old photo albums again. I guess she's reminiscing about the past.
