What is the difference between "social" and "societal"?

"Societal" means a group or network of people; a society as whole. "Social" means an individual who likes to interact and spend time with other people. "Social" is more of an interpersonal concept whereas "societal" is referring to a group of people. Ex: Societal pressures have been difficult on the African American community. Ex: There are many societal issues in my community currently. Ex: She is such a social butterfly. She will talk to anyone. Ex: I am not a very social person.
