If I change "on" to "in", does the meaning get changed?

Native speaker’s answer

The meaning does not change if "in" is used instead of "on". However, native English speakers usually say "on a team", because it is also possible to be "off a team" (which refers to being removed from a team). You can also be "on" other established groups, such as a board or committee.
