What's the difference from "Would you marry me?"

Native speaker’s answer

"Will you marry me" is more direct than "would you marry me". "Will" means both "do you want to" and "are you going to". So "will you marry me" is a direct request. In comparison, "would" is indirect and is a conditional word, so it is softer. So "would you marry me?" is much more polite than "will you marry me?" Also, saying "would you marry me" seems like to have some conditions, such as "would you marry me, if I make more money?" So it's better saying "will you marry me" as it is more common.
