What does "some" mean here? Why is "girl" being used instead of "girls"?
Joey is making a joke about Monica being heavier in the past. The tv screen only shows one girl (Monica) eating something, so the singular form "girl" has been used here. "Some" is used when one doesn't need to be specific about something, and it has the same function as "a" here. Ex: Some guy stole my phone! Help me chase him down. Ex: A: What did you eat for dinner? B: Just some leftovers.
