The expression "in the middle of nowhere" indicates that someone or something is located in a place which is totally isolated from everything else, meaning they are far from civilization and nobody is around. You can use this expression whenever you want to express a meaning of physical isolation. Ex: I live out in the middle of nowhere. The closest store is 30 minutes away. Ex: We went on a hike and ended up in the middle of nowhere.
