You are correct! "Nocturne" means "nocturnal" in French. "Nocturnal' means done, active, or occurring at night. "Nocturne" is a genre of classical music that is inspired by or evokes feelings of nighttime. I don't listen to a lot of classical music, but Chopin and Mozart wrote a few pieces in this genre.
