What's the difference between "For instance" and "For example"?
These two expressions are the same in meaning, except "for instance" is a little bit more formal. It is often used in writing. You can also use similar expressions like, "to give an example," "i.e.," and so on. Ex: For instance, the company can reduce expenses by encouraging telecommuting. Ex: I like to eat fruits. For example, things like apples and oranges.
