A "nature preserve" is a protected area of land and/or water which has plants, or features of geological or other special interest. Areas which have these qualities are set aside by dedicating them as nature preserves. "Nature preserves" are like living museums. Like other museums, they serve as a valuable record for scientific study. They also increase our understanding of our natural and historical heritage. A "trip" is a visit to somewhere, usually for a short time. So a "nature preserve trip" means a short visit to a nature preserve. In the clip as this is a school, it could also be referred to as a "school trip", which are events where school children travel to a location separate from normal school for the purpose of learning by experience. Ex: My school is taking us on a trip to the nature preserve. Ex: Have you ever been to the nature preserve? Ex: Let's go on a trip to the nature preserve. Ex: I'm excited about our school trip to the nature preserve.
