What does "while I have you" mean? What is the meaning of "having somebody"?

"While I have you" is used to mean since you are already here with me. It is usually used before someone says something that they have wanted to say to that person. They use it to express that they won't wait for another time, they will just say it now, since you're already together. "Having" someone from this just mean that you're together. Ex: While I have you on the line can you tell me your final decision? (Since we're already talking on the phone...) Ex: While I have you here, did you talk to your mom?
