"Oh my god" and "Oh my goodness" are both exclamations to show a strong feeling, such as surprise, frustration, or anger. The difference between the two expressions is when it is appropriate to use each one. Some people consider "Oh my God" a disrespectful expression because of their religion, so "Oh my goodness" is a version of "Oh my God" that is considered "respectful" no matter who you are talking to. Therefore, if you are concerned about the possibility of offending someone, "Oh my goodness" should be used. If offending someone is not a concern, "Oh my god" can be used.
