We use the word "something" or "someone" a lot in our conversation. Are there any other alternative phrases that can replace these words?
When you want to speak about a non-specific object or person (or speak in a vague manner), "someone" and "something" are most commonly used. However, "a person/thing" is also acceptable as an alternative, but make sure it is appropriate for the context. Ex: There's someone I want you to meet. = There's a person I want you to meet. Ex: Do you want to eat something? = Do you want to eat a thing? (grammatically incorrect, so "a thing" cannot replace "something" here)
