When can I say “that means a lot to me”?

When something "means a lot" to you, this means that something someone did was really kind and you appreciate it very much. You can use this expression when someone's actions seem to deserve something stronger than just a "thank you", because you want to show that you really appreciate them. Ex: You remembered my birthday? That means a lot. Ex: Thanks for reaching out after my mom passed away. That meant a lot to me.
